Vincent Kuhlman

Vincent Stephen Kuhlman of Des Moines, previously a longtime resident of Milford, Iowa passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at the VA Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 71.
Vincent was born on November 13, 1944 to Stallo Vinton Kuhlman and Lucille Anna (Harn) Kuhlman and was raised in Waterloo, Iowa. He was a graduate of Columbus High School in Waterloo, and enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17. He served as an electrician on the USS Saint Paul (CA-73) from 1962 to 1968.
Vincent then worked in a variety of fields, ending his career at Polaris in Spirit Lake, Iowa. He was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford, Iowa for almost 40 years. Vincent was a voracious reader as well as being an avid sports fan with a devotion to the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Minnesota Twins.
He was preceded in death by his wife Audrey Kay (Steinbach) Kuhlman, his father, mother, and his brother Raymond Paul Kuhlman.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Michelle Kuhlman, Amanda Kuhlman, and Angela Reisdorf, (Luke) all from the Des Moines area; granddaughters Olivia and Evelynn Reisdorf, his siblings Marcella A. Schoo from Mesa, Arizona, Raleigh W. Kuhlman from Mesquite, Nevada, Pamela A. Clark of Prescott Valley, Arizona and Lawrence D. Kuhlman of Chandler, Arizona.
A wake will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, August 5th at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Road. Both events will be held in Des Moines, Iowa. Vincent will be laid to rest at 3 p.m. Friday at the Carroll City Cemetery in Carroll, Iowa.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Anthony School Spanish Immersion Program in Des Moines, Iowa.

My sincere sympathy for the loss of your father and grandfather. Vincent was my classmate at Columbus High School. He was a brave grad who enlisted during the Vietnam war. May God hold you close during the coming days and months.

Though I did not know Vincent personally, I know his sister Pam & know of him through her. I also feel the lost of a loving brother. My heart goes out to the entire family in this time of sorrow. God welcomes him into His loving arms.
