Lucretia B. Smith

Lucretia Bell Smith, age 75, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016 at her home in Des Moines.

There will be a graveside service held at Laurel Hill Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 5th.

Lucretia was born April 3, 1941 in Des Moines, Iowa to Earl and Gladys Evans. She worked as a waitress at the Why Not Café that was located on 2nd Avenue. Lucretia liked spending time with her friends at the Community Center at 26th and University. She enjoyed bead craftwork, adult coloring books, and crossword puzzles.

She is survived by six children, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, her caretaker of many years, Ray Martin, and a host of other extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
