Terry Manuel, age 63, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016 at his home in Des Moines.

There will be a memorial service held Friday, August 5, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.

Terry was a mechanic and his expertise in detailing cars was impeccable he was known to always help friends and family with any car trouble day or night. Outside of his love for working on cars and martial arts he enjoyed working out and helping other people meet there personal goals and overall progress in the weight room. In his free time he watched movies with his family and his personal favorites were martial arts with Chuck Norris. Terry was a jack of all trades who excelled at all things including, being an amazing cook and baker he would make everything from scratch there wasn’t something he couldn’t do or wouldn’t try. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed being outdoors as much as possible with his family and friends. Everyone fully enjoyed being in Terry’s presence he made people laugh from all of his crazy interesting stories and could make anyone feel special. With this all being said he will truly be deeply missed by all who knew him and the impact he has left on all of our hearts.

Terry was born July 19, 1953 in Des Moines, Iowa. He is survived by his children, Markey Wiles, Terry Wiles III, Alfred Wiles, Alex Wiles, Kasina Manuel, Shyrone, Tyron, Kasino, Copa, Kameelah, Albert, and Johnathan. He is also survived by his siblings, Carol Hogan, Alvin Manuel, Judy Manuel-Gordon, a host of nieces and nephews, and numerous grandchildren.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Manuel and Carrie (Williams) Manuel, brother, Michael Manuel, sister, Mary Manuel, son, Terry Manuel II, brother-in-law, Joe Hogan, and his nieces, Jasmine and Donna.
