Joann Brown

JoAnn Brown passed away Monday, November 27, 2006 at Taylor House from complications of Parkinson’s disease. Following a private burial service the family will host a public visitation Tuesday, November 28th from 5 – 7 with a memorial service Wednesday at 3:00 pm, both at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens.
JoAnn was born Sept. 23, 1927 in Des Moines to Martin & Edith Stanton. She graduated from East High School and attended Drake University. In 1962 she went back to law school, graduating in 1966. She spent two years in private practice before going to work for the State of Iowa as legal counsel for legislative services. She retired in 1992 as Iowa Code Editor.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, William D Brown. She is survived by her brother Benjamin (Christine) Stanton, daughters Leslie (Greg) Dahm, Kim (Larry) Buske, Vickie (Ken) Strosahl, Sharon Brown, and son Greg (Iris) Brown, 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions can be made to Taylor House. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens.
