Mark “Moose” James Meier, the son of Gary Loran Meier and Penelope Leigh (Stone) Turner, was born on April 5, 1988 in Des Moines, Iowa. Mark entered eternal rest on July 13, 2016 at his home in West Des Moines, Iowa at the age of twenty-eight years, three months and eight days.

Mark began working at local factories in Creston, including Wellman Dynamics, Bunn and Trolli. Mark moved to Des Moines, earning his GED in 2011. Mark started working for Pigott, Inc. part time in November of 2010. During his tenure he was promoted to a full time position and in August of 2015 took on a lead installer role where he delivered and installed office furniture.

Left to cherish Mark’s memory is his son: Bennett James Warren, Johnston, Iowa; his mother: Penny Turner, Creston; his father: Gary (Lori) Meier, Des Moines, IA; his brothers: Mike Turner (Fiance’ Aimee Lane), Creston; Matt Turner (Fiance Jenny Martin), West Des Moines; Steve (Bobbi) Turner, Arispe, IA; Marshall Meier, Des Moines, IA; Tyler McAnich (Fiance’ Kiersten Goff), Indianola; his sister: Lindsy (Matt) Breeden, Indanolola; his Maternal Grandparents: Peggy Stone, Corning and Vestal (Lou) Stone, Dallas, Texas; his nephews: Rason, Slade and Tukker Turner; Corbin Turner; Warren Breeden; and Caleb; his nieces: Lainey Breeden and Libby Breeden; his canine baby Oscar Meier, an Alaskan Malamute; and several aunts, uncles, other relatives, and many, many friends.

Preceding Mark in death were his paternal grandparents: Gary and Ginny Meier.

A Memorial Service will be held 12:00 Noon on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Hamiltons Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines, Iowa. On-line condolences may be left at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com

A second Memorial Service will also be held 12:00 Noon, on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Pearson Family Funeral Service, 809 W. Montgomery St., Creston, on-line condolences may be left at www.pearsonfuneralhomes.com.

Pastor Jeff Combs will officiate. Burial will be private at a later date. There will be no public viewing. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
