Thank you all for the kind words. This was a complete shock for the entire family, and the wounds are still very fresh. It does comfort knowing so many of you took the time to write a message.

Bev & Nancy, my heart goes out to you in the passing of Steve. He was a great guy, and I was blessed to be his classmate and friend at Mitchellville Elementary and SEP High School class of '70. He always had a smile, and I so enjoyed catching up with him at our 40th class reunion as he sat at our table. He will be missed! My deepest sympathy to you and all your family.

I am shocked as was printing out an obituary of my sister who also just passed away. I had lost touch with Steve in the last few years but he was a true good friend & we shared the same birthday. I am so sorry.

Bev, Steve introduced me to you May 24, 2015 at Butch Freel's burial service. Nancy, my brother Bruce shared with me your facebook posts of your memories of Steve. I knew Steve from the Mitchellville and SEP class of '70, but was blessed to get better acquainted in our latter years, often at Butch's get-togethers. Steve was
a warm-hearted guy and my prayers are with your family.

Bev and Nancy, I was so shocked to hear about Steve. My prayers are with you and the whole family. We had so many good years living across the street from each other as kids growing up on 5th St. & Market in the NW. corner of Mitcheville, Until you guys moved down to the house of E. 3rd St. There are many childhood memories from that time. Again I am so sorry to hear about Steve and my prayers are with you and the Family.

So sad to hear of this news, Steve was my neighbor when I was living in Mitchellville. He was quite the man, with a heart of gold and a unique personality. He will be missed and remembered by many, my heart goes out to his family along with his dog Buddy.
