Irene Harrington

Irene M. Harrington, 95, passed away peacefully November 9. 2007 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Services will be held 11 am Tuesday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held after 3pm Monday with the family present from 6 to 8pm Monday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Dunreath Cemetery.
Irene was born November 22, 1911 in Hartford to Frank and Bessie Morris. She worked at numerous jobs before retirement but most recently as a cook for the Des Moines Public Schools. She worked at Woodrow, Willard and Brooks schools. Irene was a more then 50 year member of Grant Park Christian Church and the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed crocheting, bowling and camping.
Irene is survived by her children, Juanita Gustin, Donna O’Callaghan, Phyllis Sutton (Jack), and Dwight Harrington (Ruby); 19 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lester, her son John, her brother, Elmo Morris and her sister, Beatrice Mikesell.
