Joe T. Lees, 67, left his earthly life with dignity and grace on November the 26, 2006 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
Joe was an employee of John Deere and a member of the Grapevine Church. He had many interests in this life, and loved many interesting things, but nothing more than the beautiful, close-knit family he has created.
His spirit lives on in the heart of the family he so cherished. He is survived by his devoted “bride” of nearly 45 years, Karen Sue; his children: Vicky Lees-Reber, her children Josh & Betsy Reber and John & Kizzie Peterson and their children Holly and Caleb; Jodi Lees-Weiser & Doyle Weiser and their children Daniel and Dylan; Patricia Lees and her children Carmen, Jesse and Mark; James & Dana Lees and their children Heather and C.J.; his brother Roy Aarons; and many fortunate children he welcomed into his home and his heart.
Joe was greeted in heaven by his parents Al Lees and Mary Jane Fisher, his sister Marianne Waltz and his grandson Chad Reber.
An informal celebration of his life will be held on Friday, December 1st at 6:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway. A celebration of his eternal life will be observed on Saturday, December 2, 2006 at 1:00 pm. at First United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Veridian Credit Union at 5910 University Avenue in West Des Moines. Memorials can be made to the Love Lives On Fund, a fund established to enable Joe’s family to pursue charitable deeds in Joe’s honor.
