Darlene (Schall) Miller

Darlene (Schall) Miller of Runnells passed away peacefully on June 8, 2016 at The Shores at Pleasant Hill at age 87.

Darlene was born to Don and Ruby McDannel of Adelphi, Iowa on September 13, 1928. She graduated from Runnells High School in 1945 and lived in the Runnells area all of her life. She was married to Howard (Buddy) Schall from 1946 until his death in 1990. She was married to Glenn Miller from 1993 until his death in 2014. She worked for Look Magazine and Southest Polk School District until her retirement.

She is survived by her sons, Ron (Linda) Schall of Runnells, Bill (Linda) Schall of Runnells; daughter, Pam (Art) Heinzer of Pleasant HIll; six grandchildren: Stephanie, Shawn, Scott, Linzi, Barb and Teri; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard; her second husband, Glenn; brother, Dale McDannel; sister, Diann Henline; and her parents.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rising Sun Church of Christ, 6390 NE Rising Sun Drive Pleasant Hill, Iowa on Monday, June 13, 2016. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., also at the church, with burial at Warren Powers Cemetery.
