Thelma "Toni" German

Thelma “Toni” Antionnette (Morris) German was born January 8, 1938 in Hopeville, Iowa to Chris and Dorothy (Haller) Morris. She passed away Friday, June 3, 2016 at Parkridge Nursing and Rehab in Pleasant Hill at the age of 78.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., with funeral service beginning at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 8, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Interment will follow at Hopeville Cemetery.

Toni married Robert Gail German. She loved working at Bible School and spending time with her family. The light of her life was her great-granddaughter, Natalie. Toni enjoyed camping, attending sporting events, bowling, and playing basketball. She lived for family gatherings and the family will miss her famous mostaccioli salad and noodles.

She is survived by her daughter, Bobbie (Scott) German-Carter; grandson, Bo Garland; and great-granddaughter, Natalie LaRae Garland. She is also survived by her siblings, Marvin (Cherie) Morris, Helen German, Charles (Connie) Morris, and Deloris (Don) Reasoner; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Toni was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Darrell (Betty) Morris and Gerry (LeRoy) Putney; brothers-in-law, Bernard German and Bill (Doris) German; and nephews, Steven German and Gene Morris.
