Dominic Marinaro Sr.

Dominic G. Marinaro Sr. passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2006 in Johnston. Funeral services will be held 10 am on Thursday, Nov. 30 at St Anthony’s Catholic Church. Friends may call Wednesday after 5pm with a 7pm rosary at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home,
Dominic was born on March 27, 1922. He was the son of Anthony and Grace Marinaro. He graduated from Lincoln High School. After graduation he met and married Bonnie. He served his country in the air force 83rd air squadron for 3 years. They returned to Des Moines, where he worked for 46 years at Meredith Printing.
Dominic was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the craftsmen union. He enjoyed bowling, horseracing at Prairie Meadows., family vacations, and managing the band the Last Shades of Dawn for 30 years.
Dominic will be missed by his loving wife, Bonnie of 64 years, his sister, Virginia Nodland of Colorado, and brother Tony of Arizona., sons Dominic (Pearl), John (Connie), Gary (Char), Tom (Toni) and daughter, Mary (Galen) Kurth, 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren
Memorials may be given to the St Anthony’s Foundation Fund.
