Ronald Hager, Sr.

Ronald Dean Hager, Sr., 79, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital.

Ronald was born August 15, 1936 in Amboy, MN. Ronald graduated from East High in Des Moines. He served in the United States Army as an M.P. He briefly resided in Joliet, IL. Ronald was an electrician by trade. He was a proud 58th year member of IBEW LU 347. Ronald enjoyed going to casinos, feeding squirrels in his yard and cheering on the Cubs.

Ronald is survived by his children, Ronda (James) Brown, Ronald D. Hager, Jr. and Eric L. Hager; five grandchildren; brother, David Hager; sister, Leslie Obayashi; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sharon and his parents, Earlene (Miller) and Kenneth Hager.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 16, 2016 at the funeral home followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
