Jack Copic

Jack Copic, 68, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Kavanagh Hospice House in Des Moines.

Jack was born September 8, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa to Kenneth and Loretta (Coones) Copic. He was a Lincoln High School alumni and served in the U. S. Army following graduation. Jack and Peggy were married in 1972 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. He was co-owner of IAC Corporation and a member of Wakonda Christian Church. Jack loved spending time with his family and he enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, and the outdoors.

Jack is survived by his wife, Peggy; children, Todd (Sherry) and Melanie (Mark) Friend; grandchildren, Chloe, KateLynn, Aaron, and Ashton; brother, Jim; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 12th at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 13th at Wakonda Christian Church, 3938 Fleur Drive, Des Moines. A private family interment will occur at Sunset Memorial Gardens at a later date.
