Celestino Robert Silvan

Celestino Robert “Bob” Silvan was born November 11, 1950 in Ft. Collins, CO. He was found dead on May 7, 2016 at the age of 65.
He served in the United States Air Force from 1970 to 1977. Initially he served in Vietnam as a Special Forces Operative. Upon returning to the states, he trained as a nuclear imaging and radiography technician. Following military leadership training, he taught radiography to others in the USAF. Upon separation from the service he and his wife, Kathleen, moved to Rhode Island. In 1985, Bob moved to Iowa, and has lived here since that time with the exception of three years in Wisconsin, where he trained in CT and MRI imaging. During his earlier years in Iowa, he also taught radiography at the former University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences. He enjoyed lapidary work and working with rocks and minerals, as well as mushroom hunting.
Bob is survived by the love of his life, Kathleen Silvan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Celestino Fernandez and Mary Louise Silvan and his brother, Troy.
A private graveside service will be held.

Kathy, we're so sorry for your loss. We enjoyed Bob's company and enthusiasm on our CIMS field trips! We'll miss him greatly!

Kathleen, I want to express my deepest condolences. Bob will be missed very much by us here at Dino's. He always had a story to tell and he educated us with his rock knowledge. It was never boring...always interesting!
