John Clark, 32, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016. He was born February 11, 1984 in Des Moines, Iowa.

John was extremely active person he enjoyed mixed martial arts and also won several medals in gymnastics. He was an avid sport fan and loved watching the Iowa Wilds Hockey and Iowa Hawkeye Football. John was very passionate when it came to music and loved all genres, especially rap and R&B. He even began writing his own music, you could always find him singing and dancing.

John will forever be remembered for his outgoing personality, and being able to bring a smile to everyone’s face. He was a member of NA and loved being able to help other people during difficult times. One of John’s favorite verses in the Bible was the book of 1 Corinthians 13:1-13. Above all, he loved his fiancé and daughter with all of his heart.

He is survived by his mother, Doris and step-father, Keith Morris; father, Tony Steele; step-mom, Sherri; siblings, Jeremy, Amy, Jesse, Elizabeth, Nikki, AJ, Suzie, and Sarah; his fiancé, Andrea Small and their daughter, SkyLee and another child on the way; grandpa, Ralph Sink; grandma, Judy Swink; aunts, Ceila, Pam, Stephanie, and Lisa; uncles, David, Dayle, James, Ralphie,, and Dave; cousins, Adam, Bridget, Matthew, Letha, Dale Jr., Braxton, Dakota, Haden, Abbigail, Shieanne, and Peyton; and godsons, Jordan and Jerome; nieces, Patience and Kylie; and nephews, Dakota, Tanner, Gage, Trenton, and Jackson.

John was preceded in death by his grandma, Helen Elizabeth Crooks; uncle, Steven Sink; and very close friend, Joshua “Cheeze” Martin.

Family would like to give a special thanks to Prelude for helping through his recovery process and especially to Nancy who he was very close with.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family to help with funeral expenses.
