Lula Crispen, 91, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016 who battled Alzheimer’s for 13 years. She was born March 15, 1925 in Des Moines, Iowa to Vern and May Pinegar.
Lula was a sensitive loving person, and was very protective of her family. She had a passion for singing and a love for all music, and could play anything by ear. Lula always wanted her husband Paul by her side and especially enjoyed taking long drives with him.
Survivors include her children, Dennis (Judy) Morgan, Russell (Kris) Morgan, including daughter, Paula Sweet (Carrie Ory) who was her companion, caretaker, and best friend; ten grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren; and her brother, Robert Pinegar.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Paul Crispen; her siblings, Helen Bieggar, Virgil Pinegar, Evelyn Millard, Fred Pinegar, and Maxine Wissler.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 18th at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 19th, also at Hamilton’s, with burial at Resthaven Cemetery.

I only met you once in person Lady but I felt I knew you very well with the way in which Paula would share everything about you and your husband. You had a special way of loving that will carry on in your children. Thank you Paula and Carrie for taking such good care of her and all of the other people that were involved. Paula take a deep breath and hug your honey and let those tears flow, I believe that God would say a Job Well Done My Friend. Amen
