Vickie Jo Clark

Vickie Jo Clark, 69, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Union Park Health Services in Des Moines.

Vickie was born March 18, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa to Lincoln and Bettie (Bryant) Wells. She graduated from East High School and was employed at Doherty’s Flowers. She was an active member of Kingdom Hall and was affectionately known as “Queen Victoria.” Vickie enjoyed volunteering her time for Young Women’s Resource Center.

Vickie is survived by her son, Kevin (Tracy) Hendrix; siblings, Sheila Weston, Margene (Dan) Carter, Clarence Butts, and Paula Butts; special friend, Jerry Meyer; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Clark; father, Lincoln Wells; mother, Bettie Barber; step-father, Melvin “Red” Barber; and her grandmother, Ada Bryant.

Services will be held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines on Tuesday, April 19, 2016. Family will begin greeting friends at 11:00 a.m., with funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery.
