Jim Burrage, 72, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Bright Kavanagh in Des Moines.

Jim was born October 12, 1943 in Louisville, Mississippi to Rosevelt and Julia (Green) Burrage. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, but above all, he loved being with his family. Jim was a former member of Knights of Pythias Court #4 and was employed as a contractor during his working years.

Jim is survived by his children, Jimmy Burrage, Lorie (Percy) Henderson, Michael Burrage, Kim Bell, Kevin (Sharon) Bell, Allisa (Pat) Dock, Jessie Burrage, and Darrick Burrage, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine; parents, Rosevelt and Julia Burrage; brothers, Rosevelt Burrage and Charley Burrage; and sisters, LueAnn Burrage and Sharon Burrage.

Services will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, with visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m., and funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery.
