Lindsey, daughter of David and Nancy Wilson was born August 18, 1970 in Iowa City. She was educated in Marshalltown and during those years, took ballet lessons eventually dancing on the stage at C.Y. Stephens Auditorium in Ames and the Civic Center in Des Moines. Lindsey was baptized on October 25, 1970 and confirmed on April 28, 1985 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Marshalltown. During high school she was a cheerleader and graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1988. Lindsey attended Marshalltown Community College for one year before transferring to Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, IA where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 1993. She worked at Farm Bureau for many years and most recently Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines. Lindsey was an active member of her church and enjoyed summers at Clear Lake with family and friends. She loved playing the piano, going to the gym, and the special times with her friends.
On October 20, 2012 she married Christopher Bruinekool of West Des Moines, IA. He was the love of her life and they shared a strong faith journey. They enjoyed working out at the gym together, taking walks, traveling, and challenging each other with board games.
Lindsey touched many lives with her positive attitude and smile. She was a very caring, loving person and would do anything for a friend in need. She had a strong faith and after her accident and several months in the hospital, her determination, perseverance, motivation, and courage was an inspiration to others. The community and her classmates were amazed and proud of her accomplishments; giving her a standing ovation as she walked across the stage to receive her high school diploma. With God’s help and the many prayers from those who knew her, she was a special miracle. Lindsey will be missed dearly by many.

I knew Lindsey through Lutheran Church of Hope and step study together and CR. She was a beautiful person inside and out. Her smile was so full of warmth. I will miss talking to her and her smile. May you find comfort that she is no longer struggling with life's afflictions. She is free from them and gracing heaven and Jesus with her beautiful personality and smile.

It was just last week that Lindsey sent me one of her funny texts reminding me of our silly ways starting in 3rd grade. Each year, when my birthday rolled around, I could count on my first birthday wish from her sweet voice. Her loving spirit and vibrant passion for her faith, family, and friends will truly be missed. My birthday will never be the same. My heartfelt condolences go out to David, Nancy, Jeff and Angie and the rest of her family. May God hold all of you in the palm of his hand.
