Edna H. Ellis, 96, was born June 4, 1919 in Buxton, Iowa. She passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 6, 2016. Edna met the love of her life, Benjamin Ellis and the two were married on April 2, 1938. She enjoyed gardening, baking, watching baseball, and playing cards and bingo. Most importantly, she cherished time spent with her family. She will remain in our hearts forever.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Frederick (Sue) Ellis; daughter, Judith Finchum; grandchildren, Randy Ellis of FL, Allen (Amy) Finchum of IA, Jennifer (Rick) Durr of FL, and Cheryl Finchum-Klocko of IA; great-grandchildren, Seth, Elizabeth, Ricky, Tayler, Erin, and Nicole.

She was preceded in death by her son, Steve Ellis in 1998; and husband, Benjamin Ellis in 2008.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines. Graveside Services will occur at 10 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2016 at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2025 E. River Pkwy, Minneapolis, MN, 55414 in memory of Edna.
