Lucy Mae Bonner

Lucy Mae Bonner, 79, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at home in West Des Moines, IA surrounded by over 50 family members. A celebration of her life will be held at Revival Center Church of God in Christ, 3816 36th Street in Des Moines, IA on Friday April 15, 2016 with viewing from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. and the service at 11:30 a.m.
Lucy was born February 11, 1937, in Rondo, AR, to Grover Vasser, Sr. and Lucy Forney-Vasser. She married Dale Gordon Terry in Marinna, AR. Dale preceded her in death and she later married Henry James Bonner in St. Louis, MO. Henry also preceded her in death.
Mother Bonner was preceded in death by her parents; and nine siblings, David, Moses, Virgie, Willie, George Virgie, Vasser, Lula Mae Adell, Neil Westbrook and Mardell Coleman.
To cherish her memories she leaves seven children, Lola Mae (Eddie) Hill of St. Louis, MO, Dale (Andrea) Terry of Des Moines, IA, Annetta Jackson of West Des Moines, IA, Pearleanda (Andrew) Jackson of St Louis, MO, Janice (Kaven) Stewart of Des Moines, IA, James C. Terry of West Des Moines, IA and Doris White of Clarksville, TN; 38 grandchildren; 93 great-grandchildren; and host of great-great- grandchildren; two sisters, Earlene Moss of Lexa, AR, Pearl Vanhorn of Detroit, MI; close nephew, Daniel Pondexter; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and many close friends.

My sincere condolences to Rev. & Sis Terry and the entire family. My heart and prayers go out to you at this time as you celebrate your mothers home going. Although emotions may run high there is joy in knowing that she is now at peace, safe in the Masters arms. God Bless you and may He wipe all of your tears away.

Dear Granny, you were always there to cheer me up when I was feeling down some of my best laughs where with you. Your heart was pure as Gold, See you and you family took me in when everyone else had thrown me away you all help me build a scents of confident and showed me what love truly is family. I remember we prayed together, laugh together also ( laughing) fought together man some good times I shared with you all. Even when my heart was heavy your love was strong that's what made you granny you stood along with family through every test and every trail never backing down or losing your crown, you stay focus with a whole a lot of cracking jokes that made smile and for that I love you Granny rest well. To all the family I love you and praying that your heart heals in time.

To Rev and Sis Terry and the entire family...Mother Bonner was something special.I can see her raring back and singing one of the old time Gospel songs.
. She was a good mother to us all...She will truly be missed. But I'm grateful she knew the Lord and is resting in his arms no more tolling down here!! Be Blessed!!!
