Lisa Irene Gyles, 48, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016 at her home in Des Moines. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 8, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Graveside Committal Service will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, April 9 at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Lisa was born December 7, 1967 in Des Moines, Iowa to Jack and Cindy (Watson) Gyles. She loved motorcycles, especially Harleys. She enjoyed drawing and spending time with her friends partying.
Lisa is survived by her children, Nikole (David) Kimmel and K.C. (Cassie) Miller; grandchildren, Katelynn, Jack, Hunter and Leah Kimmel and Caden and Conner Miller; parents, Jack and Cindy Gyles; siblings, Kevin (Traci) Gyles, Rusty (Tracy) Gyles, and Mindy (Marty) Ameigh; half-siblings, David, Ron, Jeff, Mike, Tammy, and Kelly Sparks; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Doris Watson and John and Doris Gyles.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intentions of arriving safely in a pretty an a well preserved body. But rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming WOW what a ride!!! And she did that for sure.

I can't believe your gone! I guess I thought you were to ornery to leave this fast, or maybe unfinished business you got yourself into. Lisa - You were a sweet and dear friend. I enjoyed the many years being in your corner whether it was the tough woman contest , weight lifting, roller derby and underground fights. You always had my back and vice- versa. May you finally be at peace and look upon us. Til we meet again sister I live you and will miss you but will celebrate your life.

Lisa girl we sure had some crazy times. Even though we lost touch since them days I sure am glad we were able to reunite when we left out of DSM. You will be missed so much and you'll forever be in our heart. We love you!

Lisa, I never thought I would have to say goodbye to you, I always figured I would go first, I am holding strong but not sure how long I can do that

Lisa , was my cousin by blood , but we grew up as sisters.... I loved you with all my heart , and this is the hardest thing by far I've ever had to face.. life without you will never be the same .. But it helps to know that you are free.. No more pain , and no more fear...your at peace ... happy and care free.. I love you sister for always and eternity....RIP Red ..
