Robert J. Stapleford

Robert J. Stapleford, 78, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Fleur Heights Care Center.

Robert was born in Milo, Iowa on October 10, 1937, the son of Robert and Nellie Stapleford. He lived most of his life in the Des Moines area. Robert retired from Midwest Automatic Sprinkler in 2003 after 37 years of service. He enjoyed hunting.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 57½ years, Sharon; children, Robert Stapleford, Christine (Brian) Keeney and Ronald Stapleford; sisters, Joan Reeves and Norma Bash; grandchildren, Kelly (Dustin), Mindy, Corey and Anthony (Shelly); and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Virginia and George.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
