Mildred E. Harlow

Mildred Harlow, 95, passed away peacefully March 31, 2016. She was born in Chariton, Iowa on June 22, 1920 to David and Julia Lancey. She is survived by her children Jerry (Trish) Harlow of Ankeny, IA, Diane (John) Anderson of Sarasota, Florida, and Mark (Phyllis) Harlow of Des Moines, IA. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Tracy (Chris) Delia of New Market, MD, Brian Harlow of Slater, IA, Stephanie Reeves of Lithia FL, Jeff Anderson of Sarasota, FL, Amanda (Brant) Madison of Urbandale, IA, and Brent (Molly) Harlow of Iowa City, IA, and her fifteen great grandchildren.

Mildred shared her life with husband Jerry Harlow for 47 years until his death in 1989. She was a mother, homemaker and caretaker, and she valued time spent with her family, and in the garden among her flowers. She remained in her own home until the last year, when she moved to Sunny View Care Center in Ankeny, where she has received excellent and compassionate care. She was also blessed with extraordinary assistance and care from the staff and volunteers at Suncrest Hospice.

Visitation will be at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines, from 2 pm to 4 pm on Sunday, April 3rd, with a prayer service at 3:30 pm. The funeral will be at 10:00 am Monday, April 4th, at All Saints Catholic Church, 650 NE 52nd Avenue, Des Moines, with a lunch following the funeral and interment at Glendale Cemetery.
