Donald Prock, 82, was born July 12, 1933 in Des Moines, Iowa. He passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Donald proudly served in the Iowa Army National Guard for 42 years and was a member of Sgt. Major Association. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn Prock; children, Doug Prock of Corpus Christi, TX, Debbie (Scott) Heston of Des Moines, IA, Rustin (Kelly) Prock of Phoenix, AZ, and Laura Prock of Des Moines, IA; grandchildren, Brian, Brent, Scott, Grant, Tabetha, Heather, and Tiffany; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Bud; and sisters, Mary, Rose Carol, and Catherine.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Aria Prock; son, Kevin; granddaughter, Brandy; eleven brothers; and one sister.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2016, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family in memory of Donald.

person and individual to be associated with. His willingness to pass his skills, knowledge and

Sorry to hear of your lost. SGM Prock served his Nation with Honor during his 42 years of service. I also work with him in the 34th Infantry Division Association he was always a go to person for anything that needed to be done for the Association. I am sure he is calling formation with all the other Red Bull soldiers that are with him now.

Joann, I am so sorry to hear of Donald's passing. I remember when he stayed with us for a while in Ar. You and the family r in my thoughts and prayers. Love u, Brenda

Joann and Family, Im so sorry to hear of Dons passing. I have such fond memories of going to the Office on MLK with Laura and her dad, spending many afternoons at her house with her and her parents.. My thoughts and prayers to you all. RIP Mr. Prock.
