Nellie Maxine Rosborough

Nellie Maxine Rosborough, age 100, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016. Nellie was born in Ivy, Iowa, attended grade school at Garrett Grove and graduated from East High School in Des Moines, IA in 1933. Nellie joined Ivy Centennial Church at the age of 15. She was a member of Ivy United Methodist Women’s Society for 60 years. Nellie married Roy Rosborough in 1936 and moved to Belen, in May of 1995. Here they became members of The First United Methodist Church of Belen in 1996.

Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lucia Snedeker; her husband, Roy Rosborough; and great-grandson, David Gilmore.

She is survived by her son, John Rosborough and wife, Marilyn; grandchildren, Denise Gilmore, and Mark Rosborough; great-grandson, Robert Gilmore and wife, Lauren; David’s widow, Cecily Gilmore; great-great-grandsons, Ethan, Carter, Finley, and John Gilmore.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2016 at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW, with burial to follow at Canfield Cemetery in Ivy. Family will greet friends from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Ivy Centennial United Methodist Church in loving memory of Nellie.
