Jack Grovier

Jack Grovier, 86, passed away on March 27, 2016, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. He was born in Boone, Iowa, on January 2, 1930, to Forest and Mignonne Grovier.

Jack was a veteran of the United States Navy until his honorable discharge. He retired from Sears where he worked for many years as an Electronic Technician. He was a member of Staves Memorial United Methodist Church.

Jack loved traveling, camping, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was also an avid sports fan. Jack had a great passion for music which gave him the opportunity to play with Harry James and the Russ Morgan Orchestra.

Jack is survived by his wife, Dolores; daughter, Susan Mills; granddaughters, Jennifer and Melissa Mills; four great-grandchildren, Jack, JeNelle, Jacquelyn, and James. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Doris; son, Mark Grovier; sister, Barbara Delk; and brother, Robert Grovier.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 1, 2016, at Staves United Methodist Church, 2747 E. Madison in Des Moines, with burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery. The family will receive visitors prior to the service from 9-11 a.m.

Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in loving memory of Jack.
