Marcia Smith

Marcia Lynn Smith, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away in her home March 10, 2016. She was born to Thomas and Elanor Caldwell on December 21, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa and was a lifetime resident.

Marcia loved her family, music, reading, riding motorcycles, animals, learning, and art. She attended DMACC and Grand View College.

A celebration of her life will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 N.W. 60th Ave. in Des Moines. Following the service an inurnment will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery in Des Moines.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 50 years Earl Smith Jr.; daughter, Christina Smith Gevorgian (Artin); son, Earl Smith III (Jennifer); daughter, Melissa Walker (John); grandchildren, Zachary and Michael Smith, David Parker, Jacqueline, Julia and Andrew Gevorgian; brother Terry Caldwell (Rebecca) and sister Susan Murray (Pat); numerous nieces and nephews; additionally, her dog Sam.

Preceded in death by her parents, beloved grandson, Earl Smith IV; sister, Pam Johnson and brother Dennis Caldwell.
