Beverly Reich

Beverly Jean Reich, 86, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Altoona Nursing and Rehab in Altoona, Iowa.

Services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Staves United Methodist Church, 2747 E. Madison Ave., Des Moines with visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. and funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Private burial of her urn will take place at Laurel Hill Cemetery at a later date.

Beverly was born October 28, 1929 in Des Moines, Iowa to Lynn and Helen (Currier) Ford. She was an East High School graduate and an active member of the East High Alumni Association. She married Arnold Reich in September of 1951 and they enjoyed almost 30 years together. She worked for the State of Iowa for many years. She was a member of Eastern Star and Rebecca’s, and served as a Den Mother and Bluebird Leader. Beverly enjoyed embroidering and loved to read; she read her Bible every day. She enjoyed dancing and music, especially country music, and was always singing. Family was her true joy in life and she loved each family member equally. She embraced each person’s life and never knew a stranger. Beverly’s legacy is that she always encouraged family to do what made them happy.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl; grandchildren, Aaron (Brandi), Nick (Alison), Josh, and Jazmyne; great-grandchildren, Nichole, Connor, Corey, Macintyre, Guinvere, and Eli; as well as countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; children, Tom and Diane; siblings, John Ford and Patricia Carton; and her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Beverly.
