Jon C. Williamson, 47, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Jon was born October 6, 1968 in Des Moines, Iowa to Clark and Sonja (Dassenko) Williamson. He was employed with Sammon Financial Group. Jon enjoyed reading, watching Star Wars movies, and working on his computer. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his father, Clark; step-mother, Phyllis; sister, Bobbi Chiles; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Jon was preceded in death by his mother, Sonja; uncles, Paul and Jerry Williamson; and both his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with funeral service at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 4th at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Jon.

My heart goes out to Jon's family and friends. Jon was a wonderful person. I enjoyed working with him at Sammons and valued his expertise. He was funny, friendly, and caring. He will be greatly missed not only by me but everyone who knew him.

I had never met Jon in person but had the chance to speak with him many times on the phone at work. Jon was always very helpful and pleasant to speak with. He will be missed at Sammons by everyone that knew him. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

Jon, your kind heart & strong will , helped People to be themselves around you. Even when you could've passed judgment on others. You chose the higher Road. Life is to short to let negativity get you down, you'd say.
