Service Details
John Guzman, of Des Moines, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2016 with his loving family beside him. John was born on May 15, 1934 in Des Moines to Santiago and Katie Guzman.
John served his country proudly as a U.S. Marine during the Korean Conflict. John married Nedra Whitney on July 22, 1961. He enjoyed his time with his family, fishing and playing cards with his friends.
John is survived by his loving wife, Nedra; children, Jeanie Tiedt (Charles), Alan Guzman (Gina) and John Guzman II (Debbie); nine grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; siblings, Marguerite Green, Mary Guzman, Gloria Annett and Ray Guzman; other extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Juanita Harmon, James Guzman, Tony Guzman and Joseph Guzman.
Per his wishes, cremation has occurred and no formal services will take place.

Nedra, Deepest sympathy to you and your family. I have many fond memories working with John at Younkers. I honestly did not realize what a great boss he was until I left Younkers. He tolerated a lot from me and the guys over the years. We had a lot of laughs. I will remember him always.
