Rosalia “Rosalie” Jean McCoy
Des Moines
Rosalia “Rosalie” Jean McCoy, 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 3rd, also at the funeral home, followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery.
Rosalie was born March 14, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois to Primitivo and Rose Aguiniga. She married Richard McCoy on February 22, 1975, and two families became one. Rosalie was loved by many. She brought great joy to everyone she met and made this world a more beautiful place. Her life story continues to unfold in all of us. Her family is her legacy and one she built into every moment freely and lovingly. Rosalie enjoyed being a part of the Red Hat Society, and attending events of her loved ones—baseball, football, anything that brought her family together. Rosalie’s life was like a beautiful song. She enjoyed singing and dancing and being with family. She also loved to cook and has passed this love on to her children and grandchildren. Words cannot express how much this wonderful woman will be missed.
Rosalie is survived by her husband of 41 years, Richard and her children, Mary Paredes, Debra (Kevin) Stagers, Lori (Dan) Senecaut, Lisa (Dan) Archer, Richard (Lidia) Brown, Tony (Cindy) Brown, Brock (Donna) McCoy, Marty (Cindy) McCoy, Rick (Madeline) McCoy, Brenda (Marty) Hoover, Shelly McCoy, and Troy (Jennifer) McCoy. She is also survived by 49 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, sisters, Ramona (Dennis) Fritz, Martha (Kenny) Fritz, Janet (Jeff) Cole, Janice (Ronald) Bagley, and Beatrice (Dennis) Negrete and brothers, Primitivo Aguiniga Jr. and George (Shelten) Aguiniga, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Primitivo and Rose Aguiniga; sister, Gloria Fritz; and brothers, Robert Aguiniga, Raymond Aguiniga, and Richard Aguiniga.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Southside Cares or Taylor House Hospice.

My heart goes out to gramma coys family. I love you all so much and am thinking of you all at this time. I thought of her as my own grandma and she allowed me to do so. I love you all like family and we're here for all of you during this time. If you ever find yourself asking why: "If you were in a field of flowers which one would you pick? The brightest and the most beautiful!"

I have no words to ease the pain. Only arms to hold you, tears to cry with you and a heart that breaks with yours.
I enjoyed Red Hat events with Rosa and even though I was not a Red Hatter, she made me feel like family.
