Richard (Dick) Lee Howell of Waukee, 68, passed away at Taylor House on February 23, 2016. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 26, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Dick will be buried at the Masonic Cemetery.
Dick, son of Virgil and Peggy Howell, was born April 26, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri. After graduating from Belton High School, he attended Metropolitan Junior College in Kansas City, Missouri and later worked as a salesman. Dick enjoyed his grandchildren, his flower gardens, his little dog Lily, and watching the Cyclones play.
He is remembered by his wife of 47 years, Peggy Howell; their daughters, Tiffany (Steve) Graham and Jennifer (A.J.) Russo; grandchildren, Jordan and Noah Graham, Connor and Cassidy Russo; his brother, Gerald (Sharilyn) Howell of Olympia, Washington; sisters Brenda Neff of Belton, Missouri and Gretchen (Wally) Howell-Weir of Blue Springs, Missouri. Dick was preceded in death by his parents.

So sorry for the loss of my good friend Dick, my sincere symphony to his family. Dick will be greatly missed. I will miss our phone conversations and weekly visits to his home and lily sitting on my lap.

Very sorry to hear of Dick's passing. I remember him well from visits to his home in Belton, to playing at our grandmother's place during family gatherings. May his soul rest in peace..

So sorry for the family's loss. There are getting to be fewer and fewer from the class of '65.
Have not been in contact since high school but remember "Richie" as a good guy back in he day.
