Vicki Rae Stookey, 56, passed away Friday, February 19, 2016 at her home.

Vicki was born October 8, 1959 in Des Moines, Iowa to Marvin and Jackie Stookey. She dedicated twenty years of her life to the Des Moines Police Department as the station secretary. In 1995 she became a mother to Katie Gazzo, her pride and joy. She loved going to Katie’s dance recitals and picking her up from camp. Vicki loved to paint, read and write; artistic traits she passed on to Katie.

Vicki is survived by her daughter, Katie Gazzo; brother, Jeff Stookey; uncle, Fred Stookey; and cousin, Kris Stookey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Steve Stookey; and aunt, Belinda Stookey.

Vicki had a giving sense to her. She had a special place in her heart for Toys for Tots and the Animal Rescue League. Please make a contribution that is special to you in memory of Vicki.
