Ryan Cookson

Ryan Alan Barrie Cookson, 23, passed away on February 14, 2016. He was born on January 12, 1993, in Los Angeles, California.
Ryan attended Ankeny High School and worked as a Tile Contractor for Heritage Ceramic Tile. He was passionate about music and served as band manager for NEUZE Crew for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and camping. Ryan had an innovative spirit, always having a new idea to share with others, and making a positive impact on every life he encountered.
Ryan is survived by his mama, Diane (Jeff) Cookson-Pettiecord; father, Alan (Dorie Hammer) Cookson; siblings, Ashlee (Adam Bliss) Cookson, Austin Cookson, Jill (Corey) Pettiecord, and Jorge Tapia; fiancée, Sophia Laughman; former girlfriend of 5 years, Alyssa Dullard; cousin, Amanda Johnson; nephew and niece, Blaynne and Ayla; best friends, Luke, Reece, Brandon, Oviatt, Paddy, Conner, Connor, Cole, Sam, Happy, Kai, Dylan, and Aaron; paternal grandfather, George Barrie Cookson; paternal grandmother, Anne Howe; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Adam Pettiecord; maternal grandmother, Monica; and his uncle, Lee.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, with burial to follow at White Oak Cemetery in Elkhart, IA. Visitation will be held Friday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
In honor of Ryan, the family suggests donating clothing to Goodwill or contributing to a GoFundMe account close to your heart.

Words will never be able to fully express the pain that so many of us feel. You were such a joy my friend.You loved me many times when i was beaten down and truly just unlovable, but thats just the kind of man you were Ryan you always saw the good in people.
