Eleanor Williams

Eleanor Ruth Williams, age 78, was born January 4, 1938 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She passed away February 14, 2016 at Lutheran Hospital.

Eleanor worked for Northwestern Bell (Century Link). She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Ronda Tully (Grant) and Crista Meiers; grandchildren, Frank, Alexandra, and Adam Tully and Tonya Castro; and great-grandson, Gabrielle. She is also survived by her brothers, Melvin Vander Hoek, Stanley Vander Hoek, and Dr. Harold Vander Hoek; sisters, Carol Ann Krause and Margaret Riccio.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Robert Williams and parents, Ben and Frances Douwstra Vander Hoek.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 18, with funeral services at 9:00 a.m. Friday, February 19, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
