Boni Jeanne Ann (Morehart) Jacobs went home to be with her Lord on February 12, 2016. Boni was a devoted mom, grandmother, sister and friend to all she knew. She will be missed dearly by those who knew her, however we know she is in a much better place.

Boni was born on July 26, 1939 in Danville, PA, to Charles and Bernice (Dunlap) Morehart. She graduated from Milton High School, Milton, PA. She attended North Central Bible College in Minneapolis, Grand View College, and Drake University with a Bachelor’s degree. She was retired as a teacher in Killen, Texas.

Boni was a dedicated Christian woman and enjoyed many different activities with her church. She was a licensed minister with Kingsway Fellowship International. She was active in youth programs as director of Kids Krusades, junior choir, and sports director at church youth camp in Clear Lake, Iowa. She was also the sponsor for Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Killen, Texas, girls’ basketball and softball coach in Ventura, and commissioner and coach at Highland Park Little League in Des Moines, Iowa. She was also a member of MENSA and Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society.

Boni had a heart for missions and served as a resident missionary in Haiti and Nigeria, West Africa. She also participated in mission tours to Jamaica, Mexico, Philippines, England, Scotland and Israel.

Boni was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Lance Stone Wishman. She is survived by her sister Bernice Grimes (Richard) and Ronald Morehart (Gail). Also by her four children, Abbi (Randy), Jon (Sara), David, Stephanie (Todd) and grandchildren Levi (Miah), Quentin (Janae), Crisstian, Ella, Makenna, Gentry, Jordan, Katelyn, Madison and Dylan.

Visitation will be held at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, Iowa on Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at New Hope Assembly of God Church, 4425 70th St in Urbandale, Iowa on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to West Des Moines Human Services.
