Marianne Josephine Paterno
Marianne Josephine Paterno, 81, of Des Moines died on October 30, 2007 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with burial following at Glendale Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 4-8 P.M. Friday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home where there will be a 7 P.M. rosary service.
Marianne was born on March 18, 1926 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of James and Phyllis Severino both of whom had immigrated from Italy. She was retired from the state of Iowa and was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards, music, movies and especially spending time with family.
She is survived by her children Anthony Paterno, Jimmie Paterno, Vicki (Rick) Laffoon and Mary Jo (Randy Potts) Paterno, her sisters Angie Rizzuti and Fena Lucia, her brothers James and John Severino, her six grandchildren Karissa Hicks, Ricky Laffoon, Shane Potts, Heather Potts, Jimmie Kinley and Anthony Paterno as well as her great grandchildren Cody Hicks, Jenna Hicks and Becca Laffoon. She was preceded in death by her brothers Joe, Albert and Charlie Severino.
