So many memories of young parents sharing fun & raising our children in the Windsor Heights Lutheran church family. Marilyn & Dick were the first to reach out to us at church. That became a lifelong journey of ups downs of support for both of our families. The card games were the best with snacks & lots of laughter. These we will cherish & always remember that this was a carefree time of our life journey. God bless you Dick & your family as you grieve a huge gap in your lives. With deepest sympathy, love, & courage to continue on.. . .

Please know we are in prayer as you & your family lay Marilyn to rest. We count it one of our deepest pleasures to have met you & Marilyn as we ministered at Kennybrook. Please don't make yourself a stranger, Dick. We would welcome your presence any time. May God continue to bless you as you work for Him in your special way. In His love....

We were so sorry to hear about Marilyn. Wish we had been in touch recently but remember the weekend in Perry, Iowa - what a fun time for a group of Tri-Deltas and their husbands.

Dick and family, So sorry to hear of Marilyn's passing and how hard that must be for you all. She was truly a wonderful person and is now an angel in heaven. I like to think maybe she and my mom and dad can watch the girls' bb tourney together! :) Until you are reunited in heaven, all our sympathies, with love.

Dear Petie and Girls,
We met Marilyn and Dick forty-seven years ago, and since that time have shared so many joys and sorrows. Marilyn was a dedicated educator, an excellent cook, a Christian woman, a very caring and supportive friend, and a loving Mother, Grandmother and Wife. Marilyn will be remembered as a kind and caring soul and greatly missed by all. Oh for one more game of cards .....In love and friendship.

Where to start? To me, aunt Marilyn was a shining example of a woman who valued God & family. I remember her delicious ham rolls. When I first moved to Des Moines, Dick and Marilyn were like a second set of parents to me. She was such a gifted teacher. She so loved her children and grandkids. I give thanks for the wonderful memories I have of her.

Mrs. Pedersen was a great teacher for my daughter. Avery loved to get her morning handshake when she entered the preschool room. Marilyn instilled her that it was good to be an independent thinker. We feel fortunate that she shared her gift of teaching with us at Bergman Academy. Our deepest sympathies.
