Service Details
Norma J. Mongar, 90, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2016. She was born on September 19, 1925 in Des Moines to Carl and Pearl Brandt.
She is survived by her sons, Dan (Kathleen), David and Dana (Elizabeth) Mongar; grandchildren, Jennifer Kuhns, Jason Mongar, Christy Ann Reed, Denise Doerhoff and Nicholas Mongar; great-grandchildren, Zach Reed, Ryan Mongar and Leland and Declan Doerhoff; and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Phil; great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Rose; brothers, Herbert and Carl Edward Brandt; and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 5, 2016 at Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th St. SW, Altoona. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to the family to go towards a cause close to Norma’s heart.

Such a dear strong lady. She always had so much kindness and love to offer. Brother Carl always spoke highly of her. Memories of Norma Jane and Phil with the boys only puts a smile on my face. May the Lord be with you.

Not a mean bone in her body! Aunt Norma was a kind wonderful lady. We are so blessed to have had her in our lives. Only good memories!
