Mary Alice Polito

Mary Alice Lee Polito, born July 21, 1927 in Des Moines, Iowa passed away peacefully on October 28, 2007 in Surprise, Arizona surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m., Saturday, November 3, at the Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 N.W. 60th Ave., in Des Moines, with a burial following at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
MaryAlice was a North High Rope Jumper and a lifelong member of the North High '45ers. She was a charter member and past Regent of Catholic Daughters of the Americas at Our Ladies Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Ankeny. MaryAlice was co-owner of La Pizza House Restaurant and Grand Lanes Bowling Alley. Along with spending time with her family and friends, she also enjoyed bowling, ceramics and summers at Okoboji.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Albert (Abbie); their six children, Marty, Dave (Deetra), Connie (Rich) Deam, Andy (Helen), Thomas (Tracey) and Shelley (Mark) Smith; eleven grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara (Roland) Bunsness; her brother, Jim (MaryLou) Lee; brother-in-law, Dominic (Evelyn) Guidicessi, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews.
MaryAlice was preceded in death by her parent's, E. Leslie and Gladys Lee, and three brothers; Earl, Bill and Lowell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in her name to any charitable organization of your choice.
