Jack Mason Sargent

Jack Sargent, 87, passed away on January 26, 2016 at Scottish Rite Park. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 30th at 10:00am at Scottish Rite Park, 2909 Woodland Ave, Des Moines, Iowa.

Jack was born in Des Moines on January 16, 1929. He was one of seven children and the son of Bert & Opal Sargent. He was a graduate of East High School & the University of Iowa. Jack worked for his brother Bob for many years at Sargent Wholesale Feed. He was a champion tennis & ping pong player and enjoyed many other sports. He was a longtime member of the Des Moines YMCA and a member of Wesley Methodist Church.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents Bert & Opal Sargent, brothers Warren & Bob Sargent, and sisters Marguerite Rogerson & Vivian Williams. Survivors include sisters Eloise Cram Frampton & Lucile (Russ) Johnson and many nieces and nephews.

We’re thankful that Jack was able to celebrate his 87th birthday recently and he will be greatly missed at the big Sargent family reunion this summer. Thanks to Scottish Rite staff for their wonderful service helping Jack.
