Vern Hildebrand

La Vern “Junior” Hildebrand, 79, was born September 27, 1936 to Vern and Viola (Pyle) Hildebrand in Newton, Iowa. He passed away quietly in his sleep on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the Baxter Care Center in Baxter, Iowa.

Vern loved fishing, hunting, camping and watching NASCAR and football. He was always telling jokes and making people laugh. Vern is survived by his wife of 43 years, Catherine Hildebrand; four sons, Timothy, Kevin, John and Jeffrey; daughter, Debra; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers; one sister; and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; and one sister and his beloved daughter, Billy Jean Murphy.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Ft. Des Moines Church of Christ, 244 E. Army Post Road.
