Gilbert Earl Williams, 91, went to be with the lord on January 20, 2016 in Peoria, AZ. He was born on August 16, 1924 in Des Moines, Iowa and married Ina Erskin in 1947 (they were married for 68 years).

Gilbert graduated from East High School and served in the US Navy during WWII. He worked at Ad Color Press and Marquardt Advertising Company as a pressman before retiring in 1986. He and his wife spent 25 years as snowbirds in Mesa, Arizona. He enjoyed camping and travelling, including trips to Hawaii and Alaska. He volunteered at his church, Hope Ministries and The Regular Baptist Camp in Clear Lake, Iowa.

He is survived by his wife, Ina; son, Steve (Evelyn); daughter, Cynthia Gandy (Doug); son, Jeff (Darcy); 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and his brother, Bob (Joann).

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Geneva Schneider and Bernice Brown; his brother, Clyde Williams; and granddaughter, Amber Gandy.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016 at Altoona Regular Baptist Church, 803 3rd Ave SW, Altoona, IA from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a service following the visitation at 7:00 PM. A procession to the graveside service at Vandalia Cemetery will leave the Altoona Regular Baptist Church at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 30, 2016.
