Edith (Fuqua) Schager, 69, was born May 7, 1946 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Clarence and Agnes (Garrett) Fuqua. She was a woman of great faith, a longtime member of New Life Church, and she enjoyed hosting Bible study groups. She worked for 20 years at the Iowa Heart Center and liked playing dominoes, cards, and pinochle with her friends.
Edith went to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 19, 2016 after a five year battle with cancer. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 29, 2016 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral services will be at New Life Church, 6036 NE 12th Avenue, Pleasant Hill, Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. The family invites guests to bring a single yellow flower to adorn Edith’s casket.
Edith is survived by her only daughter, Teri Sellers (Kevin); grandchildren, Cheyanne, Michael, Mason, and Edie; brother, Clarence R. Fuqua; sister-in-law, Alice Wheatly; and cousins, Rick Fuqua (Rose) and Doug Fuqua.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Agnes; husband, Dean Schager; and her brothers, Craig Fuqua and Bob Fuqua.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for a future designation.

Terry and family. We will miss your mother's smiles and love that she added to our church family. I also enjoyed her beautiful voice when she sang with us in the Heartland Singers. Edie,be free now. You leave us with great memories.
