Service Details

Jennings “Lee” Furgason, 77, died Sunday, October 28, 2007 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St.
Lee was born February 3, 1930. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a pressman for Meredith Publishing for 42 years. Lee enjoyed fishing, golfing and gardening but above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his warm, sensitive and outgoing personality, traits that made him a good friend to everyone.
Lee is survived by his daughter, Shelly (Randy) VanderLeest; grandchildren, Zachery and Sydney VanderLeest; sister, Ruth Nelson; and many nieces, nephews, good friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Furgason and son, Dr. Mark Stephen.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice in Johnston and the Animal Rescue League.
