Maria De Jesus M. Hernandez, 95, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Adel Acres in Adel, Iowa.

Maria was born July 1, 1920 in Mexico, the daughter of Ines Hernandez and Rosa Munoz Hernandez. Raised in Mexico, she moved to California where she lived for 20 years, prior to moving to the Des Moines area seven years ago.

She is survived by her children, Samuel (Margarita) Hernandez, Maurilio (Lupe) Hernandez, Juana (Jose) de Santiago, and J. Lupe (Lidia) Hernandez, one sister, one brother, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Jose Maria Hernandez, and sister, Lucia Hernandez.

All services will be held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m., with a 7 p.m. Rosary, Thursday, January 21st. Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday, January 22nd with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
