Brian "B.A." Scavo
January 13, 2016
Brian Anthony “B.A.” Scavo passed away at his home on January 13, 2016 at the age of 42. He was born on August 18, 1973 in Des Moines to Anthony and Kim Scavo. He graduated from Scavo High School then entered the military, proudly serving his country in the United States Army. He attended DMACC where he studied building trades and HVAC training. He was skilled in many areas, often volunteering his talents for family, friends and even strangers, expecting nothing in return. His favorite sayings were, “I love you”, “Are you okay” and “Do you need any help”.
He was a devoted and loving father to his two daughters, Pilar and Christa. His biggest joy was spending time with and caring for them. Brian had a kind heart for others, helping care for many of his elderly relatives. He was deeply committed to his faith in God and made a recent pilgrimage to Bethlehem, the birthplace of his Savior.
Brian is survived by his daughters, Pilar and Christa; father, Anthony (Leslie) Scavo; mother, Kim Scavo; sister, Andrea (Bruce) Miller; grandmother, Cadijah Lundeen; aunt, Helen Marie; three nieces; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be greeted in heaven by his grandparents, Anthony and Angelina Scavo and Donald Lundeen; and his special uncles, Joe and Dominic.
The family will greet friends Monday, January 18, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 6:15 p.m. followed by the reciting of the Rosary at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 19th at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5711 SW 9th Street. Brian will be laid to rest at Glendale Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for the benefit of his daughters.

I am a simple, pretty straight forward guy, and can't come close to putting into words the way I feel for Brian and his entire family...that being said...as I have known him, he was a good man, soldier, father, and friend. He will be missed by myself as well as many. Rest easy brother.
