Emily Ellis Kasal

Emily Ellis Kasal, 41, passed way January 12, 2016. Services will be held Saturday, January 16 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation prior from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA. Emily will be privately laid to rest at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.

She was born October 24, 1974 in St. Charles, MO to Bill and Kathy Ellis and graduated from Valley High School in 1993. Emily was very creative and held a variety of interests. She enjoyed fishing, attending the Farmer’s Market at Valley Junction, and cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Most of all, Emily loved spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her parents, Bill (Susan) Ellis and Kathy (David) Laws; her daughter Elisabeth Kasal and her father, Michael Kasal; her sister, Amy (Don) Portwine; companion, Jason Herman; and many extended family members and friends.
