Betty Rae Tomlinson Stradley, 85, passed away Monday, January 11, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.

Betty was born March 23, 1930 to Chester and Maudie Tomlinson. She married Richard Stradley on September 17, 1949 and enjoyed 58 years of marriage.

She loved shopping, flowers, and sports, especially the Hawkeyes.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Roger) Cox; sons, Dick (Kathy) Stradley and Bob (Sandi) Stradley; grandchildren, Jeff (Lisa) Long, Todd Long, B. J. Stradley, Rick (Megan) Stradley, and Bobbie Stradley; great-grandchildren, Luke, Madison, Adam and Jamison; and brother, Robert (Elva) Tomlinson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Stradley; a brother and two sisters.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 14 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. A private committal service will take place at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
